All homes advertised for rent have a surface area of less than 30 square meters, according to a study published by idealista, based on ads published in the real estate marketplace in the last three months.
Of the homes advertised have between 30 m France Telemarketing Data and 60 m2, while the majority of properties that can be rented in Spain (49.7%) have a surface area of between 60 m2 and 100 m2 . 22.8% of the entire available park has a size between 100 m2 and 150 m2, and 7.4% has a larger size.
For Francisco, spokesperson for idealista , “the phenomenon of mini-apartments is striking and in the media, although reality shows that it is something purely anecdotal in the rental housing stock in our country. The supply problem that has plagued the rental market in recent years has not caused tiny homes to become a significant part of the market. On the contrary, practically all of the advertisements refer to larger sized homes."
CCAA without presence of mini-flats. Only two communities register an incidence of homes measuring less than 30 meters above 1% of the total: Madrid with 1.4% and Catalonia with 1.2%. In all the others, the weight of mini-apartments in the total market is testimonial. The lowest rate occurs in La Rioja (where they do not exist), followed by Asturias and Extremadura (0.2%). Next, we find Castilla-La Mancha, Navarra and Aragón, which share 0.3%, followed by Galicia and the Balearic Islands (0.4%).
Little incidence even in large cities. Homes of less than 30 m2 do not represent a significant sample, even in large cities. In Madrid only 1.6% are less than that size, while 29.9% have between 30 m2 and 60 m2, 40.9% have between 60 m2 and 100 m2 and the rest more than 100 m2.
The situation is similar in Barcelona, only 1.3% have less than 30 m2, 25.6% have between 30 and 60 m2 and 48.9% between 60 m2 and 100 m2. 16.3% of homes in Barcelona are between 100 and 150 m2, and only 7.9% are larger.
On the contrary, in 6 provinces there are no mini-apartments: Zamora, Teruel, Soria, Albacete, Guadalajara and La Rioja.
