Where to start?
First of all, I'm so excited to be in the BB Recycled House. I know it's going to be a great season and, trust me, I plan on sticking around until the very end so I can enjoy every second of it. I was the third person to check into the house and I immediately started playing as soon as I saw the two ladies who checked in before me.
Currently, my closest ally is Jun. We bonded right away, got to know each other, and agreed that we'd look out for one another throughout the game. Our first plan was to stay in separate bedrooms and relay information to each other; we agreed to use our bedrooms to foster alliances with other houseguests and sway them in order to keep each other safe. Now, I have to be honest: I like Jun a lot and I'm excited to be working together, but this bitch is playing way too hard, way too fast. She is pumping out one strategy after another after another; form a side alliance with A and B, but convince them that you'll also work together with C and D, then we'll get E to work together with......you get the idea. Jun wants to build an army but she's not leaving any enemies; that could mean some serious bad news for me. I want to continue working with Jun because I think she could be a very strong ally (and bigger target...or, as I like to call it, a human shield), but I need her to understand that coming on so strong to so many different houseguests might rub a few people the wrong way. Karen has already approached me asking my opinion of Jun because she finds her shady. The fact that Jun has already had serious game conversations with so many people makes me question my ability to trust her.
But I don't want to talk about Jun only today. I also want to talk about three women who are somewhat farther down the road in their lives...Women who comprise beauty, grace, power, and unbridled sexuality...Women who can only be described by one word: Cougar. The Cougar Power alliance consists of Nicole, Renny, and Karen. (Sarah might become an honorary Cougar...or cub, if you will...depending on our opinions of her as we get to know her.) Renny, Karen, and I have all agreed to work together, share information, and get as far in the game with one another as possible. There are pros and cons to this alliance, all of which I am very aware. I'll start with the pros. First off, Cougar Power is a wicked alliance name. Who doesn't want to hear "But the Cougar Power Alliance took control of the game once again!" at the beginning of an episode of Big Brother? "But they were no match for the Cougars!" Hear that, Enzo? That's a f*ckin' alliance name. Psh...the Brigade. Another pro, from a purely individualist standpoint, is that Renny can be somewhat polarizing. I like her a lot but I can see how others might be put off by her attitude in private conversations. All that means is that there's someone else in front of me in line for the guillotine, and that's all I can ask for at this point in the game.
Cougar Power comes with a major con, however, and that's the fact that we room together. It will be very easy to assume that roommates = teammates, and part of our job as an alliance is to make sure that people don't get this impression of the three of us. I fear that, because we're three loud, assertive, and admittedly older women (I'm the youngest of us all, I should point out), we'll be the easiest perceived alliance to target and put up on the block in the early stages of the game. Not only will I have to downplay the extent to which I know both Karen and Renny, I'll also have to make sure that my social game keeps me in good standing with every other houseguest so that I'm never the target.
Both of these alliances - the G-Force Alliance with Jun (she chose the name; I'm not a huge fan of it, to be honest) and Cougar Power with Renny and Karen - have already begun to show some problems. Despite Karen's doubts about Jun, Renny suggested adding Jun to our alliance. I knew that Jun was planning to work both Ragan and Renny on the side, but I definitely didn't expect Renny to suggest having Jun in the Cougar Power alliance! That collapses my two alliances into one and I don't want that! Both Karen and I deflected the question and I continued to downplay my friendship with Jun. If that wasn't unexpected enough, Today Jun suggested adding Porsche to our core alliance. I felt I had no choice but to agree; rejecting the idea would give Jun an ally that I likely wouldn't have.
At this point, I don't want to overplay my hand. I'm going to continue getting to know everyone and I'm going to stay loyal to Jun and to the Cougars. If it ever comes down to choosing between the two, I really don't know what my decision would be. On the one hand, Jun would be the idea houseguest to throw under the bus because she plays so aggressively. But, on the other hand, keeping her around as a shield isn't the worst idea. As much as I love my roommates, I'm playing this game for me at the end of the day. All you have to do is look at the animal kingdom and you'll see...a real Cougar travels alone.
